High School Financial Peace University - Sundays

Kerry Wager will be teaching a high school version of Dave Ramsey's Financial Peace University on Sunday mornings, during the worship service time. This is for grades 9-12 and will run from June 1 through July 27th (there will be no class on the June 15 and July 6th weekend. Students are asked to pay $20 to cover the class materials cost. Looking for a healthier lifestyle? — Monday, June 9 through July 14

Bridget Bordelon is starting a six-week study called "The Daniel Plan" by Rick Warren. The study will begin on Monday, June 9 and go through July 14. It will start at 6:30 (no dinner provided) and end around 8:00. What is it? It's a DVD driven study. Check out for more info. Here is the summary, "The Daniel Plan is a groundbreaking healthy lifestyle program founded on biblical principles and focused on The Essentials: Faith, Food, Fitness, Focus and Friends. The program offers an innovative approach to achieving a healthy lifestyle where people get better together by optimizing their health in each of these life areas. Each essential supports and influences the others, offering a practical step-by-step approach for anyone to follow." Oak Terrace Lunch Meals - July 7-11

We have a youth group coming down from the Twin Cities again this year to serve at Oak Terrace. They will be doing hands on projects in the park in the AM and then a Backyard Bible Club in the afternoons. We would like to serve lunch to these volunteers (about 10 this year), as well as the kids who might come out to the program in the afternoon. We would eat at about 12:30 or 1pm each day and serve about 30 people (give or take). We can purchase food and you can help prep it at the church office at Oak Terrace. This is an introductory class on what it means to be a member of Bear Creek Church. We will be meeting at the Crossroads College (920 Mayowood Rd SW is off 16th Street SW just east of Trader Joes). Life Group Leaders Training — Wednesday, July 23rd

We are looking for people who would be willing to Host a group in their home or to lead a group. We will be having a Leader & Host Training on Wednesday, July 23 from 6:00-8:00 PM at the Church Office (Oak Terrace Mobile Home Park) for those currently leading groups and for those who might be interested in leading or hosting a group (supper will be provided). Fall Vision Potluck Dinner — Sunday, August 3

Please join us for a potluck dinner following the worship service on Sunday August 3. It will be a time of fellowship, and information as Aaron and Jeff share what will be happening in the Fall Ministry Season. Everyone is encouraged to bring a couple of food items to share. Hamburgers, hotdogs, drinks and utensils will be furnished.

Church Prayer Gathering—Wednesday, August 6

We are calling on all our Bear Creekers to join us for a church wide prayer gathering on Wednesday, August 6 from 6:30-7:30 PM the Church Office at Oak Terrace Mobile Home Park. As a congregation, we need to seek the Lord to guide and direct our mission and ministry. Please join us to pray!!!

Vacation Bible School at Oak Terrace — August 10-14

Bear Creek will be partnering with Marion Church of Christ to provide a Vacation Bible School at Oak Terrace Mobile Home Park on Sunday August 10 through Thursday August 14. Then on Saturday, we will host a Summer Bash with food and games for the park residents. Lots of volunteers will be needed. Next Step 301: Discovering Spiritual Maturity — August 24

NS301 is the third class in our basic discipleship course that will teach you how to grow in your faith. You will learn:

  • How to read and study your Bible
  • How to develop your prayer life
  • How to connect with others in groups.
  • How to be generous with your resources.
  • This is a one-day seminar that will meet on Sunday, August 24 from 5:00-8:30 PM at Crossroads College (920 Mayowood Rd SW). You can sign up on the back of the Connection Card by circling the letter “C” or by contacting Aaron at or 884-1753. Supper will be provided! Please let us know if you need childcare.
