Happy 15th Anniversary Bear Creek!
On Sunday, September 22, we will be celebrating our 15th anniversary as a church family. In the summer of 2009, a group of about 40 people met once every other Sunday evening to pray and envision a new church in SE Rochester. Then, on September 20, 2009, we had our first Sunday service with over 100 people in attendance. Since then, We have gone through some highs and some lows, but God has sent us some amazing people and done some amazing things through the church.
This is a special Sunday so we will be meeting in a special place. The service will take place on Jake Renken’s farm located at 802 County Road 107 NE Eyota
(Take College View Road east of Rochester. Go through the round-a-bout over HW 42 and continue to head east. Take the first left on County Road 107. Drive about a half a mile. When you drive through a farm place with buildings on both sides, the Renken’s Farm will be the next farm place on the right. We will make sure to have signs to help guide your way).
The service will begin at 10:30 AM followed by a pot-luck lunch. Pulled pork, drinks, ice cream, cake, and utensils will be provided. We are asking folks to bring salads (like coleslaw, potato salad, broccoli, etc.) or sides (cheesy potatoes, mac-n-cheese, beans, etc.). A sign up will be posted on our FaceBook Page.
There will also be a couple of bouncy houses and outdoor activities for the kids.
Come and celebrate and bring a friend or family member with you as we thank God for what He has done and will continue to do through Bear Creek Church!
Note: There will be no Childcare or Children’s Classes that day. Families are encouraged to attend together.
